An octopus-headed oracle, cloaked in darkness,

his limbs like flowing script,

his fingers poised over a ritual drum

that echoes through forgotten dimensions.

The octopus is no monster.

It is a threshold guardian —

fluid, shifting, ancient.

Across cultures, it appears as:

 In Japanese lore — a shapeshifter from the deep, a force of sensuality and fear.

 In Polynesian myth — Kanaloa, god of the underworld and healing.

 In alchemical symbolism — the octopus represents multiplicity of mind, the unconscious, the mystery of form without bone.

 In dreams — a sign of entanglement, intuition, and adaptability.

It is the shadow and the wisdom.

The unknown that moves with elegance.

The creature that can camouflage, squeeze through impossibilities, and regrow what’s lost.

Much like us.

Much like the soul.
